Privacy Policy

Who we are and what this policy covers

Platiniq is operated by NOVACORE TECHNOLOGIES LTD., an Ontario company, incorporation number 1001554236 (“Platiniq”, “we”, “us”). We are responsible for the personal information described in this policy.

This policy covers the public platiniq.com website, enquiries and subscriptions to product or marketing updates. Financial onboarding and card, payment or crypto services require additional, service-specific privacy information, provided before the relevant information is collected or processed.

Information we collect

We collect information you choose to provide, such as your name, email address, contact details and the contents of enquiries. If you subscribe to updates, we also record your subscription preferences and consent.

When you visit the website, our infrastructure providers receive technical information needed to deliver and protect it, such as your IP address, browser, device information, requested pages and access times.

With your permission, analytics tools collect information about visits, interactions and website performance. This can include cookie identifiers, pages viewed, referring pages, device information and approximate location. Our Cookie Policy explains these tools and your choices.

Please do not send identity documents, full payment-card details, wallet recovery phrases or private keys through website enquiries.

How we use information

We use personal information to:

  • Answer enquiries and communicate with you about your requests.
  • Send product news or marketing updates when you have agreed to receive them.
  • Operate, maintain and protect the website, investigate misuse and resolve technical problems.
  • Understand website use and improve its content and performance, subject to your analytics choices.
  • Keep necessary consent records, address complaints, establish or defend legal claims and meet applicable legal obligations.

We collect only information reasonably needed for these purposes. If we propose a materially different use, we will explain it and obtain consent where required.

Consent and other lawful grounds

We seek meaningful consent where required, including for optional analytics and marketing subscriptions. You can refuse or withdraw optional consent without losing access to the public website. Withdrawal does not change processing that was lawful before withdrawal.

Where the GDPR applies, we rely on consent for optional analytics and marketing; steps you request before entering a contract, where relevant; and our legitimate interests in answering general enquiries, maintaining website security and managing legal claims. We assess those interests against your rights. We rely on a legal obligation only where that basis is available under applicable law.

Providing enquiry or subscription information is voluntary. Without the relevant contact information, we may be unable to reply or send requested updates.

Who receives information

We use service providers for website hosting and delivery, security, communications and analytics. They receive the information needed for their role, subject to appropriate contractual and confidentiality arrangements.

Our website uses Google Analytics and Cloudflare Web Analytics, subject to your Analytics setting. It also retrieves fonts from Google Fonts; delivering those files involves transmitting technical request information, including your IP address, to Google. See Google’s Privacy Policy and Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy.

We may disclose relevant information where lawfully required by a court, regulator or other competent authority, or where necessary and legally permitted to protect rights and investigate wrongdoing. If our business is reorganized or transferred, relevant information may be shared with advisers and the prospective or new operator under appropriate safeguards. We will provide notice where required.

International processing

Our team and providers may access or process information in [CONFIRMED PROCESSING COUNTRIES]. Those countries may have different privacy laws, and information may be accessible to local courts or authorities.

We remain accountable for information transferred to providers for processing and require appropriate protection. Where applicable law requires a transfer mechanism, we use an available lawful mechanism, such as an applicable adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses with additional safeguards where needed. Contact us for information about the safeguards relevant to your information.

How long we keep information

We keep information only as long as reasonably needed for its stated purpose, taking account of the nature of the enquiry, necessary follow-up, security investigations, complaints and applicable legal requirements.

Subscription information is kept while you remain subscribed or until the list is discontinued. After you unsubscribe, we retain only the limited information needed to respect your choice and maintain necessary consent records. Analytics identifiers and storage periods are described in our Cookie Policy.

When information is no longer needed, we delete it or make it anonymous, subject to necessary legal preservation and routine backup deletion cycles. Financial-service recordkeeping periods will be explained before those services begin.

Your choices and rights

You can unsubscribe from marketing through the link in each message and change analytics choices through Cookie Settings in the website footer. Cookie choices do not change email subscription preferences.

Depending on the law that applies, you may request access to your information, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or an objection to certain processing. These rights have legal limits; for example, some records may need to be retained to meet legal obligations or address claims.

Send privacy requests and concerns to [email protected] with the subject Privacy Request. They will be routed to the role responsible for privacy matters. We may ask for proportionate information to verify your identity. We respond within the timeframes required by applicable law and notify you if a legally permitted extension is needed.

You may raise a concern with us or complain to the relevant privacy regulator. In Canada, this includes the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. Where GDPR applies, you may also complain to your competent supervisory authority.

Security and children

We use safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information and limit access to people who need it for their work. No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure. We assess and respond to privacy incidents and provide notifications where required by law.

This public website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly solicit children’s personal information. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us so we can assess and address it. Any service involving minors requires a separate, appropriate notice and consent process before collection.

Changes and contact

The current version of this policy is available on this page. We amend it when changes to our practices or applicable requirements make that necessary, and provide additional notice or seek fresh consent where required.
